Example Uses
All Day, Every Day, in any Situation
Breath: Any
There are no disclaimers about when you should or should not use this breathwork tool. The primary effect it has is to raise your level of presence in the Now. So far, I have not been in any situation where raising my level of presence in the Now was unhelpful. All specific effects from different breaths are secondary.
The original inspiration for this breathwork tool was a teaching I came across that said something along the lines of, “Let every in-breath be ‘Thank You’, and every out-breath be ‘I Love You”. (If you know what this is from, please email me, I’ve been trying to find it again.)
That resonated heavily with me, and I wondered what it would be like to actually live that way. I intuitively explored this concept during my meditations, and the practice of “I AM Infinite Love” was the eventual result.
After you reach a certain level of familiarity with the practice and each breath, you no longer need to meditate while using them. If you are present enough to remember the option, you can use one of these breaths while doing any other activity.
For additional information on the workings of these examples, please see the more detailed examples further down the page, and the Advanced Information page.
Example 1
Using “Thanks, Love” to boost your focus, mood, and energy while driving or stuck in traffic. On the in-breath, thanking the beauty of nature, and all the people around you for being. On the out-breath, sending love out to anything and everything you think of, or outward in a sphere.
When done while driving, it gives me the distinct impression of seeding the land with love as I pass by.
Example 2
Using “Be, Welcome” to let go of resistance during difficult or personal conversations. Focusing on simply existing during the in-breath. Hold the knowing that no matter what anyone says to you, existing is all you need to do to be worthy of Source’s love. On the out-breath, unconditionally welcome the being that is with you. Allow them to be exactly as they are, and to do exactly as they are doing.
When done in conversation, it helps create an open space of presence in which others can join you.
Boosting Your Energy, and Mood
Breath: Thanks, Love
If you are feeling tired or in an undesirable mood, the “Thanks, Love” breath can be of tremendous help. By focusing on generating gratitude and love, you create a combo that can fill you with energy and reset your entire mindset. This is incredibly useful and versatile.
Example meditation:
Breathe through your heart chakra, beginning with the “Thanks, Love” breath described in Step 1. Do this until you begin to feel the flow and vibrations.
On your inbreath, move your thoughts to things you are thankful for. Begin with general things, and direct your gratitude towards Source.
Thank you for the food I am able to eat each day.
Thank you for the roof over my head.
Thank you for all the opportunities you’ve given me.
Thank you for all of my wonderful experiences.
On your outbreath, send love to Source for each of the things that you express gratitude for. Do this until you feel it is time to move on.
Get more specific. On your inbreath, move your thoughts to specific people, objects, and opportunities that you are thankful for. With each thing listed, direct your gratitude towards it.
Thank you my beautiful partner, for being with me and experiencing life with me.
Thank you for all the delicious and nourishing food you have made for me.
Thank you for all the love and wonderful memories we have shared.
Thank you new computer, for allowing me to play awesome video games.
Thank you wonderful pets, for sharing love and cuddles.
On your outbreath, send love to each specific thing you are thankful for.
